I cater for the needs of beginners, intermediate or advanced students, children and adults and English or Spanish students. Lessons can take place at my home, the student’s home or online.

I concentrate on the four main skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking but will focus on the particular needs of each individual student. I am able to prepare students for any level of Spanish that they wish to reach: primary, secondary - GCSE, A Level, university level or Spanish or English for adults. I thoroughly enjoy teaching, whatever the level, and love a challenge!

I operate a pay-as-you-go system (students can pay me at the end of each lesson) so they can have as many or as few classes as they wish. There is no obligation whatsoever on the student’s part. My students' satisfaction and progress take top priority. I always ensure they learn at their own pace (and I insist that if students want to visit me in groups, they must have more or less the same level of ability) and I use material and methods that they are happy with. I always cater for everyone's personal needs and preferences.

Students can learn on a one-to-one basis with me, which tends to be the most effective way to learn. However, if they prefer to learn with other students, such as friends, classmates or work colleagues, I teach groups of up to four people. Group work is useful for role play and enjoyable for students. As my groups are small, each student will still receive a large amount of individual attention and will have plenty of opportunities to take part in listening and speaking exercises.

In my first class with a new student, I will assess the student's language level, what they already know and what they need or want to learn, according to the curriculum they are focusing on or their personal preferences. I use a variety of different resources in my teaching and prepare my classes based around what students need to learn - for example, if the student attends school, we will refer to the text books they are currently following and I will prepare other material of a similar standard - and their own individual strengths and weaknesses, whether they be grammar, conversation, pronunciation or listening practice. My classes include pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, speaking and listening practice, exam revision and past papers, phonetics, translation, help with homework and proofreading and editing essays. I prepare a large amount of my own work sheets and grammar references and provide all necessary material.
